4.1 Triple-wall corrugated fiberboard containers are used to unitize products into containers of size and shape suitable for manual or mechanical handling and to protect the contents against environmental, handling, shipping, and storage conditions.4.2 This practice is intended to cover some of the basic constructions and styles of commercially available triple-wall fiberboard packaging used to unitize and protect contents.1.1 This practice covers the fabrication and closure of new triple-wall corrugated fiberboard containers.1.2 This practice indicates the factors and components that must be controlled in the manufacture of triple-wall fiberboard containers.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers particulate glass (cullet material) recovered from waste destined for disposal, smaller than 6 mm intended for reuse as a raw material in the manufacture of glass containers. Flint glass cullet is a particulate glass material that contains no more than 0.1 weight % Fe2O3, or 0.0015 weight % Cr2O3, as determined by chemical analysis. The color mix for amber, flint, green and other color glass cullet shall conform to the prescribed mix.1.1 This specification covers particulate glass (cullet material, recovered from waste destined for disposal, smaller than 6 mm intended for reuse as a raw material in the manufacture of glass containers.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.2.1 Exception—The values given in parentheses are for information only.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification establishes recognized requirements for determining the child resistance of portable gasoline containers intended for use by consumers. The following tests shall be performed: senior adult test; child-resistant test (test subject/selection criteria); child-resistant tests (test failures); sequential test; and senior adult use effectiveness to conform with the specified requirements.1.1 This specification establishes recognized requirements for determining the child resistance of portable fuel containers (PFCs) and other types of portable containers intended for use by consumers to hold, store, and transport liquid fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel.1.1.1 “Portable Fuel Container” is defined in Specification F852 and includes the receptacle for gasoline, kerosene, or diesel fuel as well as spouts, caps, and other closure mechanisms and components for use with or on portable gasoline, kerosene, or diesel receptacles.1.1.2 This specification is also applicable to spouts, caps, or other closure mechanisms sold separately for use with or on a fuel container.1.1.3 This specification does not cover one-time use portable emergency fuel containers conforming to Specification F2874.1.2 This standard addresses the effectiveness of the child resistance (CR) device only after closure cycling, but does not address closure effectiveness:1.2.1 When at high or low temperatures,1.2.2 After thermal aging of polymers,1.2.3 After exposure to sunlight,1.2.4 After exposure to intended fuels, and1.2.5 After physical abuses, such as drops or impacts.NOTE 1: Please see Appendix X2 for additional information on these exemptions.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard.

This specification establishes nationally recognized performance requirements for portable gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fueling systems intended for reuse by the consumer in filling, transport, dispensing, and storage. This specification defines performance requirements for systems that can effectively reduce fuel spillage and emissions when used in accordance with the manufacturer's (marked) warnings, operating instructions, and limitations of use. Permeability, flow rate, and fill level shall conform to the requirements specified. Spout samples shall be subjected to the following tests in order to determine their overall performance: leakage test, operation test, elevated temperature test, bending moment test, cyclic endurance test, pull test, closure test, drop test, immersion test, aging test, xenon arc type light exposure test, and water exposure test.1.1 This specification establishes nationally recognized performance requirements for portable gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fueling systems intended for reuse by the consumer in filling, transport, dispensing, and storage. This specification does not cover single-trip prepackaged containers.1.2 This specification defines performance requirements for systems that can effectively reduce fuel spillage and emissions when used in accordance with the manufacturer's (marked) warnings, operating instructions, and limitations of use. This specification does not provide assurance that systems meeting the requirements are suited to all fueling applications and conditions.1.3 This specification is not a fire hazard standard. It concerns portable gasoline and kerosene containers for consumer use.1.4 Containers used with these systems shall meet all applicable requirements of either Specification F 852 or F 976 and additional requirements as specified in this standard.1.5 The following precautionary caveat applies only to the test method portion, Section 5, of this specification: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

5.1 This practice is intended for use in collecting samples of single and multilayered liquids, with or without solids, from drums or similar containers, including those that are unstable, ruptured, or otherwise compromised. Special handling procedures (for example, remote drum opening, over-pressurized drum opening, drum deheading, etc.) are described in Drum Handling Practices at Hazardous Waste Sites.1.1 This practice covers typical equipment and methods for collecting samples of single or multilayered liquids, with or without solids, in drums or similar containers. These methods are adapted specifically for sampling drums having a volume of 110 gal (416 L) or less. These methods are applicable to hazardous material, product, or waste. Specific sample collection and handling requirements should be described in the site-specific work plan.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific precautionary statements are given in 7.2.4, 7.2.7.1, and Notes 1 and 2.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification deals with nationally recognized requirements for the cautionary information to be placed on the label of portable kerosine and diesel containers for consumer use. It is not the intent of this specification to preclude any other labeling requirements, such as those set forth in Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) or other applicable regulations and standards. Information on warning labels which appear on the containers will help ensure the proper information is being presented to the consumer, concerning methods of handling kerosine and diesel fuels.1.1 This specification establishes nationally recognized requirements for the cautionary information to be placed on the label of portable kerosine and diesel containers for consumer use.
