Mill products may be supplied with a descaled or pickled, abrasive blasted, chemically milled, ground, machined, peeled, or polished finish, or as specified by the purchaser. Materials shall be furnished in the hotworked, cold-worked, forged, annealed, or stress-relieved condition. Mechanical properties to which the titanium materials shall conform are ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and reduction of area.1.1 This specification covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for four grades of unalloyed titanium strip, sheet, plate, bar, billet, forging, and wire used for the manufacture of surgical implants.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers the standard for magnesium alloys in ingot and stick forms proposed for used in remelting. Magnesium 9980A alloys are available in ingot and stick form. Magnesium 9980B, 9990A, 9995A, and 9998A, on the other hand, are generally available in ingot form only. The specimens shall be produced with no slag and shall have a clean surface free from dirt, slag, or other foreign contaminants. Alloys shall adhere to specified chemical composition requirements. Any suitable chemical analysis method can be used unless otherwise prescribed.1.1 This specification covers magnesium in the form of ingot and stick for remelting: 9980A is available in ingot and stick form, and 9980B, 9990A, 9995A, and 9998A are generally available only in ingot form.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as a separate standard. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents, therefore each system must be used independently of the other.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This practice provides a system for the codification of unalloyed magnesium and magnesium alloys in the cast and wrought forms. Code designations shall be based on their chemical composition limits. For alloys, designations shall consist of not more than two letters representing the alloying elements specified in the greatest amount, followed by the respective percentages and a serial letter. The letters that represent the alloying elements are: A for aluminum; C for copper; E for rare earths; J for strontium; K for zirconium; L for lithium; M for manganese; Q for silver; S for silicon; T for tin; V for gadolinium; W for yttrium; and Z for zinc. For unalloyed metals, designations shall consist of the specified minimum purity, followed by a serial letter. For both cases, the full name of the base metal precedes the designation, but is omitted for brevity when the base metal being referred to is obvious.1.1 This practice provides a system for designating unalloyed magnesium and magnesium-alloys that have been used commercially since 1952, and thus is intended to be the registration source for unalloyed magnesium and magnesium-alloys. A record of designations along with the established compositions is given in Table 2.1.2 The equivalent Unified Numbering System (UNS) alloy designations shown in the appendixes are in accordance with Practice E527.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

5.1 This test method for the chemical analysis of copper is primarily intended to test for compliance with compositional specifications. It is assumed that all who use this method will be trained analysts capable of performing common laboratory procedures skillfully and safely. It is expected that work will be performed in a properly equipped laboratory.1.1 This test method covers the chemical analysis of copper having minimum purity of 99.75 % to 99.95 %.1.2 This test method covers the electrolytic determination of copper in chemical, electrolytic, and fire refined copper. In this method silver is deposited with the copper, and is reported as copper.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. Specific precautionary statements are given in 8.4 and Section 9.

This specification sets purity grade levels, physical attributes, analytical methods, and packaging of three grades of pure unalloyed aluminum source materials for electronic thin film applications such as evaporation sources and sputtering targets. The impurity levels should be analyzed using the proposed method and should be within the specified range for each grade.1.1 This specification covers pure aluminum metal (unalloyed) for use in evaporation sources and sputtering targets. This material is intended as a raw material for electronic applications. The material is used as-supplied in some cases (for example, as e-beam evaporation sources). In other instances it may be remelted, alloyed, cast and processed by the purchaser to make finished products (for example, sputtering targets).1.2 This specification sets purity grade levels, physical attributes, analytical methods, and packaging.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.

5.1 Cross-product contamination occurs whenever alloy steel powders are processed in the same equipment as iron powders.5.2 Unalloyed iron particles, because they may not harden upon heat treatment, are a potential source of soft spots in low-alloy steel parts.5.3 Alloyed iron particles, having higher hardenability than an iron or carbon steel matrix, are a potential source of hard spots.5.4 Hard or soft spots may cause problems in service or machining.5.5 The results of the tests may be used to qualify parts for shipment in accordance with guidelines agreed between purchaser and manufacturer or to check the suitability of mixes for use in powder forging.1.1 This test method covers a metallographic procedure for determining the percentage of alloyed or unalloyed iron contamination present in powder forged low-alloy steel materials and the percentage of alloyed iron contamination in powder forged iron and carbon steel materials.1.2 Units—The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
