This specification deals with polymer precoated, closed rib steel pipes intended for use for storm water drainage, underdrains, the construction of culverts, and similar uses. The pipes covered here are not normally used for conveyance of sanitary or industrial wastes, and are of Type ICR, which have a full circular cross section and single thickness of smooth sheet, fabricated with outwardly projecting closed helical ribs. The steel sheet used for fabricating the pipe has a polymer protective coating over a zinc metallic coating. This specification does not include requirements for bedding, backfill, or the relationship between earth cover load and sheet thickness of the pipe. Pipes shall conform to dimensional and physical requirements such as nominal inside diameter, closed rib profile size, rib width, depth and spacing, sheet thickness, and lock seam tensile strength per unit width. Damaged coatings shall be repaired by paints containing zinc dust, metallizing coatings, or polymer coatings of similar characteristics.1.1 This specification covers polymer precoated, closed rib steel pipe, intended for use for storm water drainage, under-drains, the construction of culverts, and similar uses. Pipe covered by this specification is not normally used for the conveyance of sanitary or industrial wastes. The steel sheet used in fabrication of the pipe has a polymer protective coating over a metallic coating of zinc.1.2 The polymer precoating provides extra protection of the base metal against corrosion or abrasion, or both, in addition to that provided by the metallic coating. Severe environments are likely to cause corrosion problems to accessory items such as coupling band hardware that does not have a polymer coating unless supplemental protection is provided. Additional protection for polymer precoated steel pipe is available by use of coatings applied after fabrication of the pipe as described in Specification A 849.1.3 This specification does not include requirements for bedding, backfill, or the relationship between earth cover load and sheet thickness of the pipe. Experience with drainage products has shown that successful performance depends upon the proper selection of rib depth, sheet thickness, type of bedding and backfill, controlled manufacture in the plant, and care in installation. The installation procedure is described in Practice A 798/A 798M.1.4 This specification is applicable to orders in either inch-pound units as A 1019, or in SI units as A 1019M. Inch-pound units and SI units are not necessarily equivalent. 5.1 The measurement of total moisture is required to determine whether coal meets commercial or environmental specifications, or both. Within the limitations prescribed in the scope, this practice describes a procedure for determination of total moisture that requires less time than the procedures described in Test Method D3302/D3302M.1.1 This practice covers a single-stage procedure for the determination of total moisture less than 15 % in coal reduced to 2.36 mm [No. 8 sieve] topsize. This practice is for determination of total moisture only. Materials subjected to this test shall not be used in the determination of other test parameters. It is recognized that the conditions of the test can increase the potential for significant oxidation effects on some coals. If the oxidation potential is of concern, the use of this single-stage method shall involve prior agreement between the parties involved. This practice shall not be construed as the referee standard practice for total moisture. For referee purposes, users of this practice are referred to Test Method D3302/D3302M for moisture determination methods which are not as susceptible to oxidation effects.1.2 Statistical analysis of data from several sources indicates that at a 95 % confidence level, there is statistically no difference between the mean value of the results obtained by Practice D2961/D2961M and Test Method D3302/D3302M (that is, no bias is detected between the two methods at the 95 % confidence level) for moisture levels between 1.4 % and 15.8 %. These two standards were not compared in this study for some ranks of coal including lignite and anthracite.21.3 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. 1.1 This specification covers uranium oxides, including processed byproducts or scrap material (powder, pellets, or pieces), that are intended for dissolution into uranyl nitrate solution meeting the requirements of Specification C788 prior to conversion into nuclear grade UO2 powder with a 235U content of less than 5 %. This specification defines the impurity and uranium isotope limits for such urania powders that are to be dissolved prior to processing to nuclear grade UO2 as defined in Specification C753.1.2 This specification provides the nuclear industry with a general standard for such uranium oxide powders. This specification covers blended uranium oxides with a 235U content of less than 5% for direct hydrogen reduction to nuclear grade uranium dioxide. For commercial-grade uranium oxide with an isotopic content of 235U between that of natural uranium and 5%, the isotopic limits shall apply. Physical and chemical requirements include: uranium content, oxygen-to-uranium ratio, impurity content, equivalent boron content, bulk density, moisture content, ability to flow, particle size, and reduction and sinterability. Maximum concentration limit is specified for impurity elements such as: aluminum, barium, beryllium, bismuth, calcium+magnesium, carbon, chlorine, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, iron, lead, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, phosphorus, silicon, sodium, tantalum, thorium, tin, titanium, tungsten, vanadium, and zinc. The identity of a lot shall be retained throughout.1.1 This specification covers blended uranium trioxide (UO3), U3O8, or mixtures of the two, powders that are intended for conversion into a sinterable uranium dioxide (UO2) powder by means of a direct reduction process. The UO2 powder product of the reduction process must meet the requirements of Specification C 753 and be suitable for subsequent UO2 pellet fabrication by pressing and sintering methods. This specification applies to uranium oxides with a 235U enrichment less than 5 %.1.2 This specification includes chemical, physical, and test method requirements for uranium oxide powders as they relate to the suitability of the powder for storage, transportation, and direct reduction to UO2 powder. 5.1 For PM materials containing less than two percent porosity, a density measurement may be used to determine if the part has been densified, either overall or in a critical region, to the degree required for the intended application. Density alone cannot be used for evaluating the degree of densification because chemical composition and heat treatment affect the pore-free density.5.2 For cemented carbides, a density measurement is normally used to determine if there is any significant deviation in composition of the carbide grade. For straight tungsten carbide-cobalt grades, the relationship is straightforward. For complex carbide grades (for example, grades containing tantalum carbide or titanium carbide, or both, in addition to tungsten carbide-cobalt), the situation is more complicated. If the measured density is beyond the specified limits, the composition is outside of the specified limits. A measured density within the specified limits does not ensure correct composition; compensation between two or more constituents could result in the expected density with the wrong composition. Density alone cannot be used for evaluating a cemented carbide grade.1.1 This test method covers the determination of density for powder metallurgy (PM) materials containing less than two percent porosity and for cemented carbides. This test method is based on the water displacement method.NOTE 1: A test specimen that gains mass when immersed in water indicates the specimen contains surface-connected porosity.
