This specification covers high-strength low-alloy structural steel plates intended for use in welded construction of naval ships where a savings in weight (mass) is important. The steel shall be made to fine grain practice. The plates shall optionally undergo heat treatment such as quenching or tempering to meet the requirements on mechanical properties such as yield point, yield strength, elongation, and Charpy V-notch impact, provided that the treatment be reported on the test report. The specimen shall undergo heat and product analyses and conform to the chemical composition values of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, copper, vanadium, columbium, aluminum, titanium, and nitrogen.1.1 This specification covers high-strength low-alloy structural steel plate intended for use in welded construction of naval ships where a savings in weight [mass] is important. Plates that conform to this specification offer improved weldability, formability, and toughness resulting from the specified alloying elements with limitations on carbon, sulfur, and residual element contents. Grades 50 and 65 may be provided as-rolled, control-rolled, thermo-mechanical control processed (including accelerated cooling), normalized, or quenched and tempered as required to meet the specified mechanical requirements.1.2 The maximum thickness or weight [mass] of plates shall be as follows:    Grade Plate thickness, max, in. [mm] Plate weight [mass],max, lb/ft2 [kg/m2]     50 2 [50]    81.7 [393]     65 21/2 [65] 102 [502]1.3 If the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized.1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not necessarily exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers alloy steels having a chromium content equal to or less than 11.0% in plate, sheet, strip form for corrosion, and heat-resisting applications. Some steels, especially the high silicon containing steels, because of their particular alloy content and specialized properties, may require special care in their fabrication and welding. The steel shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition. The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness shall be determined.1.1 This specification covers alloy steels having a chromium content equal to or less than 11.0 % in plate, sheet, strip form for corrosion, and heat-resisting applications.1.2 Some steels covered by this specification, especially the high silicon containing steels, because of their particular alloy content and specialized properties, may require special care in their fabrication and welding. Specific procedures are of fundamental importance, and it is presupposed that all parameters will be in accordance with approved methods capable of producing the desired properties in the finished fabrication.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the specification.1.4 This specification and the applicable material specifications are expressed in both inch-pound and SI units. However, unless the order specifies the applicable "M" specification designation (SI units), the material shall be furnished in inch-pound units.

Only annealed conditions of grades specifically approved by the ASME code are permitted for pressure vessel use.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers rolled nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy (UNS N08320) plate, sheet, and strip, for use in general corrosive service. The material shall conform to the chemical composition limits specified by the reference material. The tensile and hardness properties of the material shall conform to the requirements prescribed by the reference material.1.1 This specification2 covers rolled nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy (UNS N08320)3 plate, sheet, and strip, for use in general corrosive service.1.2 The following products are covered under this specification:1.2.1 Sheet and Strip—Hot or cold rolled, solution annealed, and descaled unless solution anneal is performed in an atmosphere yielding a bright finish.1.2.2 Plate—Hot rolled, solution annealed, and descaled.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to become familiar with all hazards including those identified in the appropriate Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product/material as provided by the manufacturer, to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices, and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for plate, sheet, strip, and rolled bar copper alloy UNS No. C15815, dispersion strengthened copper (DSC), which has been modified by the addition of natural or enriched boron for absorption of neutrons. 1.1.1 The products made to this specification are under consideration for use in storage containers for spent nuclear fuel. Note 1- Dispersion strengthened copper is thermally stable high-strength copper which retains a high percentage of its strength at elevated temperature. In addition, it does not recrystallize or soften after exposure to high temperatures almost to the melting point of copper. Since dispersion strengthened copper uses inert aluminum oxide particles to strengthen the copper matrix, the thermal conductivity of the copper is not significantly decreased. Note 2- Borated dispersion strengthened coppers covered by this specification, because of their particular structure and specialized properties, may require special care in their fabrication and welding. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are the standard. SI units are provided for information only.
