15.1 For purposes of determining compliance with the specified limits for requirements of chemical composition, hardness, and electrical resistivity, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded as indicated in accordance with the rounding method of Practice E29.AbstractThis specification covers seamless copper and copper-alloy rectangular waveguide tube intended for use as transmission lines in electronic equipment. Four types of material are specified having the following nominal compositions: C10200, C10300, C12000, and C22000. The copper and copper-alloy tubes shall be finished by such cold-working and annealing operations as are necessary to meet the required properties. The material shall conform to the chemical requirements specified. The material shall conform to the Rockwell hardness requirements prescribed. The test specimens of copper UNS nos. C10200, C10300, and C12000 shall be free of cuprous oxide. It is to be expected that samples of Copper UNS Nos. C10200, C10300, and C12000 shall be capable of passing the embrittlement test. It is to be expected that samples of copper UNS nos. C10200, C10300, and C12000 will conform to the prescribed electrical resistivity requirements. This specification covers bright annealed seamless copper tube suitable for use in refrigeration,oil lines, gasoline lines, and so forth, where tube with an interior surface essentially free from scale and dirt is required. The material of manufacture shall be billets, cast bars, or tube of the copper UNS No. C10200, C10300, C10800, C12000, or C12200 and shall be of such soundness as to be suitable for processing into the tubular products described. This specification covers standards for minimum-wall-thickness, seamless, and electric-resistance welded low-alloy steel tubes to be used for pressure containing parts, that is economizers, and for other corrosion resistant applications. Steel tubes shall either be processed to hot or cold finish. All tubes shall be normalized or given such heat treatment as may be necessary to conform to the requirements of this specification. Chemical composition shall adhere to specified carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, copper, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum contents. Tension, flattening, flaring, flange, hardness, reverse flattening, and hydrostatic tests shall be performed. Tubes when inserted in the boiler shall stand expanding and bending without showing cracks or flaws. This specification covers the standard requirements for nickel-iron-chromium alloy which include UNS N08120, UNS N08800, UNS N08801, UNS N08810, UNS N08811, UNS N08890, and UNS N06811 in the form of cold-worked and hot-finished annealed seamless pipe and tube. The materials shall be heat treated at certain annealing temperatures and shall conform to the chemical composition limits for nickel, chromium, iron, manganese, carbon, copper, silicon, sulfur, aluminum, titanium, columbium, molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, phosphorus, tungsten, cobalt, nitrogen, and boron. Planimetric method of measurement and tension test shall be conducted in full tubular size, longitudinal strip, or round specimens in the direction of fabrication to determine the grain size and mechanical properties, respectively. These materials shall conform to the specified grain size, yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation requirements. Each pipe or tube shall be subjected to hydrostatic or nondestructive eddy-current tests to determine the allowable fiber stress and to detect significant discontinuities such as drilled hole and transverse tangential notch. The cold-drawn material shall be commercially straight, uniform in quality and temper, smooth, and free of bends, kinks, and other injurious imperfections.1.1 This specification2 covers UNS N08120, UNS N08800, UNS N08801, UNS N08810, UNS N08811, UNS N08890, and UNS N06811 in the form of cold-worked and hot-finished annealed seamless pipe and tube. The material chemical composition, mechanical properties, and required response to hydrostatic and nondestructive tests should conform to the values contained in this specification and related ASTM standards.1.1 This specification covers UNS N08925, UNS N08354, UNS N089262, and UNS N08935 seamless, cold-worked or hot-finished pipe and tube intended for general corrosive service.1.2 ASTM International has adopted definitions whereby some grades, such as UNS N08904 previously in this specification, were recognized as stainless steels, because those grades have iron as the largest element by mass percent. Such grades are under the oversight of ASTM Committee A01 and its subcommittees. The products of N08904 previously covered in this specification are now covered by Specifications A269 and A312/A312M.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard.
