ASTM F1384-93 Standard Practice for Fire Tests of Marine Joiner Doors Assembly (Withdrawn 2002) Withdrawn, No replacement 发布日期 :  1970-01-01 实施日期 :

1.1 This test method for fire tests covers marine joiner door assemblies of various materials and types of construction for use in bulkhead openings to retard the passage of fire. 1.2 Tests made in conformity with this test method will register performance during the test exposure; but such tests shall not be construed as determining suitability for use after exposure to fire. 1.3 Tests made in conformity with this test method will develop a set of data to assist regulatory agencies to determine the suitability of joiner door assemblies for use in locations where fire resistance is required. 1.4 This test method should be used to measure and describe the properties of materials, products, or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products, or assemblies under actual fire conditions. However, results of this practice may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment that takes into account all of the factors that are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. 1.5 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. 1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

5.1 The assembly force of a conduit joining system is one measure of the ease of which the conduit system can be assembled and installed in the field. This test method provides a means by which to quantify the assembly force of gasketed conduit joining systems. The results of the testing can be used to compare and categorize the assembly force of different designs of gasketed conduit joining systems.5.2 This test method is not intended for use as a quality control test.5.3 This test method can be used for comparison of gasketed conduit joining systems on the basis of assembly force. No information about joint sealing performance can be obtained from the use of this test method.5.4 This test method covers all plastic conduit with push-on joints that use flexible elastomeric gaskets located in the bell to provide the joint seal.5.5 This test method is also applicable to all fittings that are fabricated from conduit covered in 5.4 and that utilize the same type of push-on joints as the conduit covered in 5.4, and that are intended for use with the conduit types described in 5.4. For purposes of this test method, assembly force data obtained from the testing of the conduit that is the parent stock of a fitting shall apply to the fitting also.1.1 This test method covers the determination of the relative force required to assemble plastic underground conduit joints that use flexible elastomeric seals located in the bell.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

4.1 The ability to have a sufficient open assembly time is critical when bonding a carpet. An adhesive with too short an open assembly time will not allow the installer enough time to position the carpet before the adhesive is dried beyond use. A product with too long an open assembly time will not provide enough dry time for the carpet to bond to the intended substrate without movement of the carpet.4.2 The test method provides a means of measuring the open assembly time for an adhesive. Use of such a test method can aid both the manufacturer to develop and the user to select the appropriate adhesive for the installation of carpet.4.3 Test Method C679 was used as a model for this test method.1.1 This test method describes a procedure to measure open assembly time for a troweled carpet adhesive.1.2 This test method provides an evaluation of the ability of an adhesive to effectively wet out the intended carpet backing.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers pulper assemblies intended for grinding of food scraps and limited amounts of cardboard, paper, and disposable plastic food service wear. Pulper assemblies shall be of the following types: Type A and Type B. Lubricating points shall be readily accessible, and the pulper shall be lubricated with the proper amount of lubricant prior to delivery. All surfaces of the machine, other than corrosion-resistant materials, shall be protected against corrosion in the use environment and shall present a neat appearance. Test method shall be performed to demonstrate the ability of the unit to meet the capacity requirements and to insure that there is no leakage during operation.1.1 This specification covers pulper assemblies intended for grinding of food scraps and limited amounts of cardboard, paper, and disposable plastic food service ware.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 The following safety hazards caveat pertains only to the test method portion, Section 13, of this specification:1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.

3.1 Vibration encountered in the field is usually random in nature and this test can be used to determine the effects of random excitation on the membrane switch.3.2 Random vibration can cause mechanical fatigue and failure by switch components either loosening or otherwise changing over time.3.3 Experience has shown that this test will expose potential failures associated with the electronic components of a membrane switch, where tests of lower levels will not.3.4 This practice can be used to qualify a membrane switch for aerospace, medical and other applications.3.5 This test is potentially destructive, intended for device qualification.1.1 This test method establishes procedures for determining the effect of random vibration, within the specified frequency range, on switch contacts, mounting hardware, adhered component parts, solder or heat stakes, tactile devices, and cable or ribbon interconnects associated with a membrane switch or membrane switch assembly.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
