This practice sets forth procedures for the operation of air soft playing fields, intended to assist air soft field operators in running a safe business. It covers eye protection devices suitable for use in air soft games, including goggles, and recommends the minimum engagement distance between the shooter and the target at which a shot may be fired. It also requires the conspicuous posting of player safety rules, printed in 24-point type or larger, at the registration area.1.1 This practice establishes minimum safety requirements for the operation of air soft playing fields, and provides for certain materials and procedures required.1.2 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

4.1 U.S. Department of Justice standards for assessing the performance of ballistic-resistant torso body armor require conditioning of soft armor test items prior to ballistic testing.4.2 This practice method may be applicable for certification testing or for research and development testing.4.3 This practice has only been evaluated for ballistic-resistant body armor and has not been assessed for applicability to any other type of protective system.1.1 This practice applies only to the conditioning of soft body armor via temperature, humidity, and tumbling exposure prior to ballistic resistance testing.1.2 This practice is intended for soft armor for law enforcement applications, and its purpose is to subject test items to conditions intended to provide some indication of the test item ability to withstand conditions of heat, moisture, and mechanical wear (folding and abrasion) that might be encountered during wear.1.2.1 This practice is not intended for soft armor to be used in military applications.1.3 In this practice, “other standards and specifications” and “unless specified elsewhere” refer to documents that require the use of this practice. This specification covers drawn and annealed or soft round bare copper wire for electrical purposes. The matterial shall be copper of such quality and purity that the finished product shall have the properties and characteristics prescribed. Tensile strength, elongation, and resistivity of the wires shall be determined. A micrometer caliper equipped with a vernier shall be used to measure the material dimensions. 4.1 Specific safety rules and procedures are important in order to minimize the risk of injury to persons in the general area of air soft guns.1.1 This practice is intended to satisfy the demand for basic safety information, which should be understood by each air soft game participant prior to the start of the player’s first game on the day of play.1.2 The information specifies rules of personal conduct, which might affect the safety of persons who are in close proximity to an air soft gun.1.3 The information includes procedures to be followed by every person who is in, or near, an area where air soft games are being played or air soft ammunition is being shot, and to the use of safety equipment related to air soft game or air soft target shooting activities. These procedures are to be followed any time an air soft gun is being handled.1.4 This standard is intended to be a useful tool for air soft game organizers, but it is not intended to eliminate the need for proper game supervision, conforming to Practice F2940.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

5.1 This specification contains requirements based on state-of-the-art science and technology as applicable to various considerations that have been identified as important to ensure reasonable safety and efficacy as it relates to the biocompatibility and the mechanical integrity of the device components in soft-tissue expander devices.5.1.1 This specification is not intended to limit the science and technology that may be considered and applied to ensure performance characteristics of subject devices in intended applications. When new information becomes available or changes in state-of-the-art science and technology occur and relevance to subject devices has been established by valid science, it is intended that this specification will be revised in accordance with ASTM guidelines.AbstractThis specification covers the requirements for single use saline inflatable, smooth and textured tissue expansion devices to be used intraoperatively or implanted for typically less than 6 months and then removed. This specification applies only to soft-tissue expander devices fabricated with elastomer shells. It does not necessarily cover any custom fabricated soft tissue expander device manufactured to any other specification. The device shall be classified as: Type I; Type II; and Type III. Biocompatibility, tensile set, breaking force, tubing shell junction, injection port competence, overexpansion, tubing length adapter strength, needle stop penetration, and fused or adhered joints tests shall be performed to conform with the specified requirements.1.1 This specification covers the requirements for single-use saline inflatable, smooth and textured tissue expansion devices to be used intraoperatively or implanted for typically less than six months and then removed.1.2 Limitations: 1.2.1 This specification applies only to soft-tissue expander devices fabricated with elastomer shells. 1.1 This consumer safety specification establishes performance requirements, test methods and marking requirements to promote safe use of soft infant and toddler carriers.1.2 This consumer safety specification is intended to minimize the risk of incidents to an infant from the normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse of these products.1.3 For purposes of definition, a soft infant and toddler carrier is a product, normally of sewn fabric construction, which is designed to contain a full term infant to a toddler, generally in an upright position, in close proximity to the caregiver. In general, the child will weigh between 7 and 45 lb (3.2 and 22 kg). The soft infant and toddler carrier is normally “worn” by the caregiver with a child positioned in the carrier and the weight of the child and carrier suspended from one or both shoulders of the caregiver. These products may be worn on the front, side, or back of the caregiver's body with the infant either facing towards or away from the caregiver. This consumer safety specification does not include products generally referred to as “slings.”1.4 No soft infant and toddler carrier produced after the approval date of this consumer safety specification shall, either by label or other means, indicate compliance with the specification unless it complies with all of the requirements contained herein.1.5 This consumer safety specification is not intended to address incidents and injuries resulting from the interaction of other persons or objects with the caregiver and infant while the soft carrier is in use.1.6 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard.
