This specification covers single-cell precast conventionally reinforced concrete three-sided structures intended to be used for the construction of culverts and for the conveyance of storm water. Precast reinforced concrete three-sided structures manufactured in accordance with this specification shall be designated by span, rise, and design earth cover. The reinforced concrete shall consist of cementitious materials, mineral aggregates and water, in which steel has been embedded in such a manner that the steel and concrete act together. The three-sided section's dimensions and reinforcement details shall be as required by design. Splices in the circumferential reinforcement shall be made by lapping. The precast reinforced concrete three-sided structures shall be produced with tongue and groove ends, flat butt ends or key-way ends. The aggregates shall be sized, graded, proportioned, and mixed with such proportions of cementitious materials and water as will produce a homogeneous concrete mixture of such quality that each section will conform to the test and design requirements. The three-sided sections shall be cured for a sufficient length of time so that the concrete will develop the required compressive strength. The forms used in manufacture shall be sufficiently rigid and accurate to maintain the three-sided section dimensions within the permissible variations. Handling devices or holes shall be permitted in each three-sided section for the purpose of handling and laying. Cylinders and cores shall be obtained and tested for compressive strength to meet the requirements prescribed.1.1 This specification covers single-cell precast conventionally reinforced concrete three-sided structures intended to be used for the construction of culverts and for the conveyance of storm water.1.2 This specification is the metric counterpart of Specification C1504; therefore, no imperial (metric) equivalents are presented in this specification.NOTE 1: This specification is primarily a manufacturing and purchasing specification. This specification covers concrete drain tile, to be used for surface and subsurface drainage. Manufactured drain tile shall be of the following classes: standard-quality concrete drain tile, extra-quality concrete drain tile, heavy-duty extra-quality concrete drain tile, and special-quality concrete drain tile. The concrete shall consist of mineral aggregates, water, and cementitious materials that include Portland cement, fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag, aggregates, admixtures and blends, and synthetic fibers. Concrete drain tile shall meet the physical requirement of the specification according to class, depending on soil acidity and sulfate content. Test specimens shall meet the external load crushing strength test requirement of the specification.1.1 This specification covers concrete drain tile with internal diameters from 100 to 900 mm, that are intended to be used for surface and subsurface drainage.1.2 This specification is the metric counterpart of Specification C412.NOTE 1: This specification is a manufacturing and purchase specification only and does not include requirements for bedding, backfill, or the relationship between field load condition and the strength classification of drain tile. This specification establishes allowable limits for the various types of surface discontinuities that may occur during the manufacture and processing of bolts, screws, and studs, including heat-treated machine screws, tapping screws, and sems. Types of surface discontinuities are: crack; burst; seam; fold; thread lap; void; tool marks; and gouge and nick. These surface discontinuities shall be inspected in accordance with the specified requirements.1.1 This specification establishes allowable limits for the various types of surface discontinuities that may occur during the manufacture and processing of bolts, screws, studs, and rivets including heat-treated machine screws, tapping screws, and sems (the washers of screw-washer assemblies are excluded). This specification covers metric series products with nominal diameters of 4 mm and larger and with specified minimum tensile strengths of 420 MPa and higher; and inch series products with nominal diameters of No. 5 (0.1250 in.) and larger and with specified minimum tensile strengths of 60 000 psi and higher.1.2 When the engineering requirements of the application necessitate control of surface discontinuities on bolts, screws, studs, or rivets, the purchaser shall specify conformance to ASTM Specification F788/F788M, in the original inquiry and purchase order.1.2.1 When the engineering requirements of the application necessitate that surface discontinuities on bolts, screws, studs, and rivets be controlled within limits closer than those specified in this specification, the purchaser shall specify the applicable limits in the original inquiry and purchase order.1.3 The allowable limits established in this specification for metric bolts, screws, and studs with nominal diameters from 4 to 24 mm inclusive, are essentially identical with requirements given in ISO 6157/I. 1.1 This specification covers crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) pipe that is outside diameter controlled in metric pipe sizes (DN 16 to 1000) and inch pipe sizes (NPS 3 to 54), and pressure rated (see Appendix X1) using the MRS rating system. This Specification is intended for PEX pipe made by various processes, as long as the PEX pipe made by that process meets all the requirements of this Specification. Included are requirements and test methods for material, workmanship, UV protection, dimensions, hydrostatic sustained pressure, environmental stress cracking, stabilizer functionality, bent-pipe hydrostatic pressure, oxidative stability in potable chlorinated water, minimum operating temperature, degree of crosslinking, and hydrostatic burst pressure. Requirements for pipe markings are also given. The pipe covered by this specification is intended for pressure piping applications such as, industrial and general-purpose pipelines, potable water pipelines, fire – extinguishing pipelines, oil and gas producing applications to convey fluids such as oil, dry or wet gas, gas gathering, multiphase fluids, and non-potable oilfield water, and chemical pipelines. It is not intended for municipal natural gas distribution.1.2 This specification also includes requirements for qualifying joints made using polyethylene electrofusion fittings and PEX pipe.
