AbstractThese test methods cover the physical testing of gypsum panel products. The test methos appear in the following order: (1) flexural strength (Method A); (2) core, end, and edge hardness (Method A); (3) nail pull resistance (Method A); (4) humidified deflection; (5) end squareness; (6) nominal thickness; (7) recessed- or tapered-edge depth; (8) width; (9) length; (10) water resistance of core-treated water repellant gypsum panel products; and (11) surface water resistance of gypsum panel products with water-repellant surfaces. For use in these test methods, a sample shall consist of gypsum panel products. Flexural properties of gypsum panel products are evaluated by supporting the specimen near the ends and applying a transverse load midway between the supports. The core, end, and edge hardness of gypsum panel products is evaluated by determining the force required to push a steel punch into the area of test. The ability of gypsum panel products to resist nail pull-through is evaluated by determining the loaded required to push a standard nail head through the product. The humidified deflection of gypsum panel products is evaluated by supporting a specimen that has been cut with the long dimension perpendicular to the machine detection, supported horizontally, and subjected to high humidity.1.1 These test methods cover the physical testing of gypsum panel products.1.2 The test methods appear in the following order:  SectionFlexural Strength (Method A)  7Core, End and Edge Hardness (Method A)  8Nail Pull Resistance (Method A)  9Flexural Strength (Method B) 11Core, End and Edge Hardness (Method B) 12Nail Pull Resistance (Method B) 13Humidified Deflection 14End Squareness 15Nominal Thickness 16Recessed- or Tapered Edge Depth 17Width 18Length 19Water Resistance of Core-Treated Water-Repellent Gypsum Panel Products  20Surface Water Resistance of Gypsum Panel Products with Water-Repellent Surfaces  211.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard with the exception of weight of samples in SI gram units. 5.1 These test methods shall be used where precise dimensions are necessary for the calculation of properties expressed in physical units. They are not intended to replace practical thickness measurements based on commercial portable tools, nor is it implied that thickness measurements made by the procedures will agree exactly.5.2 Examples of machinist’s micrometers, including pictures with descriptions of their components and pictures of the micrometers used can be located in Practice A1073/A1073M. However, make sure the micrometer, the calibration of it, and the use of it adheres to the requirements of this standard.1.1 These test methods cover determination of the physical dimensions of solid plastic specimens where the dimensions are used directly in determining the results of tests for various properties. Use these test methods except as otherwise required in material specifications.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.NOTE 1: This standard and ISO 16012 address the same subject matter, but differ in technical content.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification describes a medium access control (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) specification for wireless connectivity using dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) services. This standard is based on and refers to IEEE Standards 802.11, Wireless LAN Medium Access Control and Physical Layer Specifications, and 802.11a, Wireless LAN Medium Access Control and Physical Layer Specifications High-Speed Physical Layer in the 5 GHz Band, with permission from the IEEE society. This specification is meant to be an extension of IEEE 802.11 technology into the high-speed vehicle environment. The difference between IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.11a operating parameters required to implement a mostly high-speed data transfer service in the 5.9-GHz Intelligent Transportation Systems Radio Service (ITS-RS) Band is explained. Potential operations within the Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (UNII) Band are also addressed, as appropriate.1.1 This specification2 describes a medium access control (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) specification for wireless connectivity using dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) services. This standard is based on and refers to IEEE Standards 802.11, “Wireless LAN Medium Access Control and Physical Layer Specifications,” and 802.11a, “Wireless LAN Medium Access Control and Physical Layer Specifications High-Speed Physical Layer in the 5 GHz Band,” with permission from the IEEE Society. This specification is meant to be an extension of IEEE 802.11 technology into the high-speed vehicle environment. As presented here, this specification contains just enough information to explain the difference between IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.11a operating parameters required to implement a mostly high-speed data transfer service in the 5.9-GHz Intelligent Transportation Systems Radio Service (ITS-RS) band. Potential operations within the Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure (UNII) band are also addressed, as appropriate.1.2 Purpose—The purpose of this specification is to provide wireless communications over short distances between information sources and transactions stations on the roadside and mobile radio units, between mobile units, and between portable units and mobile units. The communications generally occur over line-of-sight distances of less than 1000 m between roadside units and mostly high-speed, but occasionally stopped and slow-moving, vehicles or between high-speed vehicles. This specification also offers regulatory bodies a means of standardizing access to the 5.9-GHz frequency band for the purpose of interoperable communications to and between vehicles at line-of-sight distances on the roadway.1.3 Specifically, this specification accomplishes the following:1.3.1 Describes the functions and services required by a DSRC and IEEE 802.11-compliant device to operate in a high-speed mobile environment.1.3.2 Refers to IEEE 802.11 MAC procedures.1.3.3 Defines the 5.9-GHz DSRC signaling technique and interface functions that are controlled by the IEEE 802.11 MAC.1.3.4 Permits the operation of a DSRC-conformant device within a DSRC communications zone that may coexist with multiple overlapping DSRC communication zones.1.3.5 Describes the requirements and procedures to provide privacy of user information being transferred over the wireless medium and authentication of the DSRC or IEEE 802.11-conformant devices.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

5.1 This guide can assist the examiner in selecting and organizing a general analytical scheme for the evaluation and documentation of physical comparisons of materials for a potential physical fit. The type and size of material influences the exact steps and equipment needed to assess the physical fit. Evaluation, documentation, and interpretation are all important parts of a physical fit examination.5.2 This guide addresses special considerations for physical fit analysis for glass, skeletal material, polymers, tapes and textiles.5.3 Foundations of physical fit examination in forensic science are described in the literature, including studies on the fractography of different materials and the use of physical fit examinations in forensic casework (1-12).5.4 It is not the intention of this guide to present comprehensive theories regarding the mechanism of fractures, tearing, cutting, or other methods of separation. This information is available from training courses and reference materials such as Practice C1256 and others (3-7, 13).1.1 This guide covers the forensic physical fit examinations for the macroscopical and microscopical examinations of broken, torn, or separated materials for the purpose of determining whether or not they were once joined together to form a single object. This guide is intended as an overview of the process for the physical fit examination of these materials and to assist individuals in the evaluation and documentation of their physical comparisons.1.2 This standard is intended for use by competent forensic science practitioners with the requisite formal education, discipline-specific training (see Practice E2917), and demonstrated proficiency to perform forensic casework.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.5 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
