This Test Procedure, which supersedes the previous issue, Standards on Antennas--Methods of Testing 48 I R E 2S2, is concerned with measurements of the properties which characterize antennas. In Section 1.2, symbols and units to be used in this test Procedure are defined. The effect of the environment on the antenna and its characteristics is discussed in Section 1.3, and certain precautions to be taken during the measurements are suggested. In Section 1.4, the usefulness of the reciprocity theorem in antenna measurements is cited, along with examples of situations in which this theorem does not apply.
The intent of this proposed Guide is to assist the Working Groups within the Transformers Committee, thus specific examples will be taken from transformer-related standards. We have recognized that identification of general principles and procedures could have broader application.
This standard defines air-to-air communications for self-organized ad hoc aerial networks. The communications and networking standards are independent of the type of network (Wireless or Cellular or other) and are applicable to manned and unmanned, small and large, and civil and commercial aircraft systems.
The scope of this test suite specification is limited to the testing of phasor measurement unit electrical performance. As of this revision of the test suite specification, the standard for phasor measurement unit performance is IEEE Std C37.118.1(TM)-2011, IEEE Standard for Synchrophasor Measurements for Power Systems as modified by IEEE Std C37.118.1a(TM)-2014.
