5.1 This specification establishes some the key factors which govern the interpretation of videoborescoping tubular products for a specific application. It is recognized that the requirements for one application may be very different than those of another. Therefore, the specification allows for the inspection to be customized for the application by the user by allowing the purchaser to specify parameters which may be important for the application.1.1 This standard covers guidelines for ordering and examining tubular products for sanitary applications by videoborescoping. This method uses movable camera probe at the end of a cable to examine the interior of a tubular product. The image is then transmitted to an external monitor for analysis. The method is normally used when inside surface imperfections, not normally detected by other nondestructive methods, may result in contamination of the product which is contained by the tubular product.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers steel joint bars of low-carbon, medium-carbon, and high-carbon grades (Grades 1, 2, and 3) for railway applications. Steel shall be made through basic-oxygen or electric-furnace processes and cast through continuous process or in ingots. An analysis of each heat or cast shall be made to determine the percentage compositions of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. Tension test shall also be made to conform to specified tensile strength and elongation values. Guidelines on the dimensions and physical variations of joint bars are given. Inspection, rejection, rehearing, certification, and product marking procedures are cited.1.1 This specification covers steel joint bars for connecting steel rails in mine, industrial, and standard railroad track.1.2 Three grades of joint bars are defined for applications where non-heat treated bars are suitable:1.2.1 Grade 1, low-carbon, primarily for industrial and mine use.1.2.2 Grade 2, medium-carbon, primarily for industrial and mine use.1.2.3 Grade 3, high-carbon, for general use in standard railroad track. They may be used in the production of insulated track joints.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification deals with various designs of zinc-coated steel pipe winding mesh to be used as reinforcement for the concrete applied in the manufacture of negative buoyancy pipe needed for laying pipe in marshes or in water. This mesh can also be used as reinforcement for concrete applied to pipe as a bendable or nonbendable mechanical protective coating when laying pipe in a harsh environment. The types of fabric to be used are classified as TW, WW, WW-C, WW-N, and WW-S. The steel from which the wire is produced shall be made by any commercially accepted steelmaking process and the zinc coating shall either be of a Class 1 or a regular coating. Hexagonal woven meshes shall be manufactured by twisting wires to form a series of openings that are hexagonal in shape while welded meshes shall be obtained by welding a series of parallel longitudinal wires to transverse wires to form rectangular openings. Stripping and tensile tests shall be performed to determine the coating weight and tensile compliance of the specimen.1.1 This specification covers various designs of welded wire mesh or twisted (woven) hexagonal wire mesh, zinc coated before fabrication, to be used as reinforcement for the concrete applied in the manufacture of negative buoyancy pipe needed for laying pipe in marshes or in water. The mesh is also used as reinforcement for concrete applied to pipe as a bendable or nonbendable mechanical protective coating when laying pipe in a harsh environment.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 The text of this standard references notes and footnotes that provide explanatory material. These notes and footnotes (excluding those in tables and figures) shall not be considered as requirements of the standard.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers the basic requirements for 0.177 in. (4.50 mm) diameter metallic-coated carbon steel marcelled tension wires for use with chain-link fences. Three types of coatings are covered here, namely: Type I, aluminum-coated (aluminized); Type II, zinc-coated (galvanized); and Type III, zinc-5 % aluminum-mischmetal (Zn-5Al-MM) alloy-coated. When tested, the wires shall adhere specified requirements for breaking strength, size, weight of coating, and adherence of coating. The steel rod from which the wire is drawn shall be made by the open-hearth, electric-furnace, or basic-oxygen process, and the corresponding wire shall be cold-drawn, metallic-coated at finished sizes, then marcelled as appropriate.1.1 This specification covers 0.177 in. (4.50 mm) diameter metallic-coated carbon steel marcelled tension wire for use with chain-link fence. The 0.177 in. (4.50 mm) diameter metallic-coated wire shall be produced in accordance with Specification A817. Three types of coatings are covered:1.1.1 Type I—Aluminum-coated (aluminized),1.1.2 Type II—Zinc-coated (galvanized), and1.1.3 Type III—Zinc-5 % Aluminum Mischmetal (Zn5Al-MM) alloy-coated.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
