Part 1 of this standard covers design considerations that apply to placement and location of magnetic ink printing on checks, drafts, and other documents intended for automated processing among depository institutions. The vertical and horizontal format of the MICR print band, the print tolerance of between MICR characters and between fields, and considerations of format at the leading edge and the trailing edge of checks, whether personal sized or business sized, and proper restrictions on magnetic and nonmagnetic ink usage in specified area are the primary focus of the specifications. Although some aspects of Part 1 may still be applicable, other types of documents such as internal control forms are not covered. A complete understanding of MICR printing requires reference to other standards listed in Clause 2.

Enhances the portablility of numeric programs across a wide range of numeric architectures. The focus is on the portability of single language programs across diverse platforms. Part 1 addresses the classical integer and floating point data types. This standard was listed for comment in the November 13, 1992, Standards Action. It is being resubmitted for public review, owing to substantive changes in the text.

This part of ISO/IEC 11579 specifies a reference configuration (RC) for private integrated services network exchanges (PINX) for their interconnection to form private integrated services networks (PISN). The configuration is not intended to require any specific implementation of a PINX, but only to provide guidance for the specification of PINX capabilities.

NOTE--These standards are being processed simultaneously as American National Standards and International Standards. Facilitates the interchange of digital images. For this purpose, conceptual, architectural , and functional definitions of the image Interchange Facility (IPI-IIF) are established. This is the second public review for this standard. It was first listed in the February 19, 1993 issue of Standards Action. This additional public review for these standards are necessary to the substantive changes made to the DIS OR DAM text.

Consists of the three parts that define the functional aspects of this Standard. The Common Architecture for Imaging (IPI-CAI) defines the overall architecture. The Programmer's Imaging Kernel System (IPI-PIKS) and the Image Interchange Facility (IPI-IIF) each specify a language independent, image processing Application Program Interface (API) within the Image Processing and Interchange Standard. The purpose of this standard is to define a standard binding for the Image Processing and Interchange Standard in the C Programming Language. This is the third public review for this standard. It was previously listed in the April 30, 1993 and the March 4, 1994 issues of Standards Action. This additional public review for this standard is necessary due to substantive changes made to the DIS or DAM text.

This International Standard is one of a series of standards describing the parameters for identification cards. The part specifies the location of embossed characters on identification cards of ID-1 size, the dimensions of which are specified in ISO/IEC 7810. The embossed characters are intended for transfer of data either by use of imprinters or by visual or machine reading.

The Character Encoding of the Computer Graphics Interface (CGI) provides a data stream representation of the CGI function syntax intended for situations in which it is important to minimize the size of the encoded data or transmit the data through character-oriented communications services. This encoding uses compact representation of data that is optimized for storage or transfer between computer systems.

Provides and architectural model for the representation and manipulation for images in digital form. Based on this model, the standard defines and applications program interface and an image interchange format. It is applicable to all applications areas that involve the processing manipulation, or transfer of image data. Part 1 describes the common architectual material on which the entire standard is based. This standard was listed for comment in the July 24, 1992, Standards Action. It is being resubmitted for public review, according to procedures.
