The physical and mechanical properties of cladding materials can be altered by exposure to a high-energy neutron flux. The magnitude and relationship of these changes are functions of the material and its metallurgical condition; the amount, rate, and energy spectrum of the radiation; the exposure temperature; the test temperature; the purity, velocity, volume, and purification system of the coolant; and effects of contained fuel.1.1 This practice covers the procedures for postirradiation examination of cladding, determination of breached nuclear fuel elements, selection of material and tests for radiation studies, determination of radiation conditions, conduction of tests for mechanical properties of cladding, and the reporting of data.1.2 The purpose of this practice is to provide detailed guidelines for the postirradiation examination of fuel element cladding and to achieve better correlation and interpretation of the data in the field of radiation effects.1.3 This practice may be applied to metallic cladding from all types of fuel elements. The tests described in this practice for determining mechanical properties of the fuel element cladding practice should be included in the preirradiation characterization of the cladding and for planning irradiation effects tests for evaluation of materials for cladding and other components in nuclear reactors.Note 1—The values stated in SI units as described in Standard E 380 are to be regarded as the standard.

ASTM D3497-79(2003) Standard Test Method for Dynamic Modulus of Asphalt Mixtures (Withdrawn 2009) Withdrawn, No replacement 发布日期 :  1970-01-01 实施日期 :

The values of dynamic modulus can be used for both asphalt paving mixture design and asphalt pavement thickness design.1.1 This test method covers procedures for preparing and testing asphalt mixtures to determine dynamic modulus values. The procedure described covers a range of both temperature and loading frequency. The minimum recommended test series consists of testing at 41, 77, and 104°F (5, 25, and 40°C) at loading frequencies of 1, 4, and 16 Hz for each temperature.1.2 This method is applicable to asphalt paving mixtures similar to mixes 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, and 7A, as defined by Specification D 3515.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

This specification covers standard methods for sampling and testing of various ferroalloys for size analysis. Ferroalloys are classified into lump and crushed or plates sizes. The small-sized samples subject to screen testing shall be taken from the lot sample by riffling, and larger sized samples by mixing and quartering. Sizing of lumps shall be done by visual examination. Crushed or plates materials shall be subjected to sieving by using either manually driven or mechanically driven screen vibrators to divide samples into several size fractions.1.1 These test methods cover procedures for the sampling and testing of the various ferroalloys for sizing, either before or after shipment from the plants of the manufacturers.1.2 They are designed to give results representative of each lot that will be comparable with the manufacturer's certified analysis for the same lot.1.3 The purchaser may use any sampling procedure he desires, but the results obtained on such samples shall not be a basis for complaint or rejection, unless the procedure followed is of an accuracy equivalent to that prescribed in these test methods.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.1.4.1 Exception—The SI units that correspond to mesh sizes in Table 1 are to be regarded as standard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety, health, and environmental practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.6 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers the requirements for porous oxide coatings deposited by electrolysis on aluminum and aluminum alloy parts. These coatings should have good appearance, abrasion resistance, electrical properties, and protection against corrosion and does not include nonporous barrier layer anodic coatings that are used for electrical capacitors. The basis metals for these coatings should be subjected to mechanical finishing operations, cleaning, and chemical or electrolytic pre-treatments to yield coatings with fine quality and appearance. Anodized parts should be sealed in water or aqueous chemical solutions except when otherwise specified. Each anodic coating should be continuous, smooth, adherent, uniform in appearance, and free of powdery areas (burns, loose films, stains, discolorations, and discontinuities.1.1 This specification covers requirements for electrolytically formed porous oxide coatings on aluminum and aluminum alloy parts in which appearance, abrasion resistance, electrical properties, and protection against corrosion are important. Nonporous, barrier layer anodic coatings used for electrical capacitors are not covered. Seven types of coatings as shown in Table 1 are provided. Definitions and typical examples of service conditions are provided in Appendix X1.NOTE 1: It is recognized that uses exist in which modifications of the coatings covered by this specification may be required. In such cases the particular properties desired by the purchaser should be the subject of agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

This specification covers the general requirements for materials used in preformed rubber seals that contact the circulating liquid in solar energy systems. Rubber seal can be classified into types, grades and classes. It has two kinds according to what climate they should be used: Type C which is intended for use in cold climates and Type W which is intended for use in warm climates. Its grade designations represent differing degrees of hardness such as Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7 and Grade 8. As for the classes, it should be determined into 3 kinds. Class A for seals used with aqueous liquid at a certain maximum service temperature. Class AT for seals used with aqueous liquids at an above maximum service temperature and class N for use with nonaqueous liquids. Different tests shall be conducted in order to determine the following properties of rubber seals in liquid heat-transport systems: compression, resistance to heating, hardness, ultimate elongation, volume, resistance to ozone, resistance to low temperature, and resistance to liquid.1.1 This specification covers the general requirements for materials used in preformed rubber seals that contact the circulating liquid in solar energy systems. Particular applications may necessitate other requirements that would take precedence over these requirements when specified.1.2 This specification does not include requirements pertaining to the design, fabrication, or installation of the seals.1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
