This standard specifies methods of examination and evaluation level of metallographic microstructure for carburizing,quenching and tempering of steel parts,and the determination of effective hardening layer depth for carburizing and quenching of steel parts.
This standard is applicable to the workpieces with an effective hardening layer depth greater than 0.3 mm for carburizinging and quenching steel parts.
