This part of GB/T 12010 specifies the method of determining the specific viscosity of water solution of Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVAL) materials via Ostwald viscometers, and then calculating the average degree of polymerization of Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVAL) materials through the known specific viscosity.
This part is applicable to the determination of the average degree of polymerization of Poly (vinyl alcohol)(PVAL) materials with alcoholys is degree higher than 70% (in mole fraction).
