This standard specifies the terms and definitions, symbols and designations, principles, apparatus, specimen, procedures, data processing and test report of high strain rate compression testing method for metallic materials.
This standard is applicable to the determination of mechanical properties of metallic materials (such as compressive stress-strain curves) at room temperature in strain rate range of 102 s-1 to 104 s-1.
